What powers a UKEI home?+
UKEI uses Home Assistant as its underlying automation platform, with a custom UKEI interface designed to make everyday control simpler. The exact integrations and features depend on the devices selected for your home.
Can charging stop at a chosen battery level?+
Where compatible vehicle battery data and charger control are available, we can assess a target-based routine. OCPP alone does not guarantee that the car’s battery percentage is available. Choose the daily limit recommended for your vehicle; 80% is only an example and does not suit every battery or journey.
Explore EV chargingDo I need to replace all my lights?+
Not necessarily. The foundation can use smart wall switches with existing suitable lights. Smart light replacements are an optional upgrade, depending on your wiring, fixtures and the experience you want.
Can we start with just a few rooms?+
Yes. We tailor the scope to the home rather than prescribing a fixed number of switches or rooms. Lighting is a natural first step.
Can you work with devices I already own?+
Yes, compatible existing equipment can be part of your setup. We check exact models, software versions, connection methods and any account or network requirements. Support varies, even within one brand. Your proposal explains what can stay, which features work and whether anything needs replacing.
Is everything controlled through an app?+
The aim is for everyday routines to happen naturally, with simple controls available when you want them. Physical switch behaviour and fallback operation are designed and checked for your particular setup.
How much does a setup cost?+
That depends on the devices, rooms, wiring and automations involved. We scope the equipment, configuration and installation before providing a tailored quote. Every proposal is tailored to the home.
